Weekly Roundup - January 19, 2018

Quick question: Did you have a snow day this week?

Or possibly three like Dixie did? By Thursday she was climbing up the walls she was so ready to get out of the house. Besides going stir crazy, the other thing that tends to happen when people are stuck in the house is they REALLY  notice all the things that bug them about their homes--to the point that they're ready to fix it NOW).

If you live in an area that got hit with a winter storm this week, this week is the perfect time get engagement and interaction on your social media by doing a blog post, Facebook Live video, and other posts asking questions and giving info on ways people can spruce up their homes and how YOU can help!

By the way, if you missed the Visibility Challenge last week, don't worry! We've got the links in the In Case You Missed It section at the bottom of this email. We run the challenge quarterly, but you can hop in and participate at any time!

If you aren't ready to be the face of your business or if going out and making in-person connections scares the pants off of you, come join us in the Visibility Lab. We'll give you the support you need to overcome your nerves and get out there.

Here's to inspiring and making the world more beautiful!

Our Pro Tip of the Week

Design+Style Pro Tip

Did you know that Instagram has a feature that will show when you were last active to everyone you follow or message? The good news is that if you don't like that idea it's easy to turn the feature off. You can change yours by going into your settings/options in Instagram. Scroll down until you see it and slide the button over.

Our Favorite Finds of the Week

In praise of the good old-fashioned hobby - “A hobby is something creative that’s just for you. You don’t try to make money or get famous off it, you just do it because it makes you happy. A hobby is something that gives but doesn’t take.” We've chatted about hobbies before on Design+Style (and have been semi-successful at focusing on ours). What hobbies do you have?

A Psychological Explanation for Why Compliments Are So Embarrassing - If you have a hard time accepting a compliment (why is it so hard?), this article gives some great tips on how to feel less awkward about it.

If you REALLY want to achieve your goals, this is the ONE THING you need - "The only thing standing between you and all the stuff you want is fear - or possibly inertia - and there's an easy way to get past that. It's called support."

Content Planning Workshop - A free workshop that will have you ready to conquer your 2018 goals in no time. We've taken it and it was fabulous!

In case you missed it...

On the podcast - Getting Visible with Laura Brzegowy - This week we got to chat with one of the sweetest people in the world - Laura Brzegowy of Your Life in Full Color - about her visibility story. From her start in cosmetics through working with builders to being a color expert, Laura has an amazing eye and a warm, loving heart. Watching her visibility journey has been so much fun!

On the blog - Why We All Need a Visibility Advocate (Or Two!) - Laura Brzegowy talks about realizing that "visibility is one of the simplest distinctions that can be made between you and your competition" and shares a little more on how she is working to make that happen.

Use #DNSFBLIVE on your challenge posts to make them easy for us to find! If you have any questions, feel free to tag us in a post in the Design+Style Club.

We started the week chatting about the challenge on Coffee Talk.
